The You-Create competition is a local 'heat' for the competitions which are run by Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland. Winners from the local heats can go through to a regional competition hosted by Rotary District 1220, which covers the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Winners from You-Create will be contacted to see if they would like to enter their work into the regional competition and winners at the regional level

may even be entered into the National competitions. The You-Create theme for 2027, 'Friendship', is aligned to the theme for the Regional and National competitions.

Although some of the You-Create categories are not represented in the Regional and National Competitions, winning entries from the categories of writing, photography and art may be eligible for entry into the Rotary Young Writer, Young Photographer and Young Artist competitions.
